Universal's "It Came from Outer Space" - the original 1953 desert sci-fi movie - is presented "live", on tour throughout the UK by Realityfilm in association with Pere Ubu, Music Beyond the Mainstream, Moneypenny and Aphiliated Music. While this print does not meet the high standards Universal Pictures typically hold for their archival prints, this red/green anaglyphic 3D stereoscopic 1972 duocolour 35mm print, is the last complete working example of the film in this format thought to exist in any of the film archives of the world. NBC Universal have again kindly granted their permission for us to screen it following the success of the original Royal Festival Hall premiere of October 2002. With a unique mixture of control and anarchy, incorporating driving rock, synthesized "found" sound, falling-apart sound structures and David Thomas' careening vocals and visionary lyrics, Pere Ubu changed the face of music. Emerging from the urban fronteir of mid-70’s Cleveland to impact the American underground for generations to follow. Ubu’s protean art-punk sound captured the chaos of the times with apocalyptic fervour and a surprising humanity Now Pere Ubu construct a live, often improvised soundtrack to Ray Bradbury’s 1953 Sci-Fi classic critique of post war racial-isolationism: 'It Came from Outer Space'
